Godzilla made his debut in Japan on November 3, 1954 in the self titled film GODZILLA( AKA Gojira ). Then later debuting in the U.S. , in the appropriately titled film, GODZILLA, King of the Monsters on April 27, 1956.
He had gone on to star in a total of 22 films until meeting his ultimate demise at the hands of Destoroyah on December 9, 1995 .

DaiKaiju: Large Monster in Japanese.
Heisei : Denotes the second series of Godzilla films starting in 1985- the Heisei era distinguishes the time period of the reign of the new japanese emperor, Akihito, in which the second series of films were made.

One of Godzilla's many opponents and at times ally is MOTHRA . Not until the Heisei Series *( Films between 1985 and 1995 ) did we find out the origins of Mothra and the miniature twins known as the Cosmos are from an ancient civilization. Mothra later is awarded it's own series of films that have yet to be released in the U.S.
